Now All I Need Is A Nap

I'm sleep typing. zzzzzz. Had an early morning class today. It was cold and I wanted to be cozy. I got a little more comfortable with the self timer and I think the pictures are less blurry. Anyhoo. Here goes.

Okay. Not bad.

Whoa. Now we're talkin'. Give us some attitude.

That's it. Flip your hair. Work it. Work it.

Okay. Now you've gone too far.

Our Little Girl Is Growing Up

I'm talking about me. I noodled around and learned how to use the self timer since I was going to be home alone at picture taking time. I was running a little later for work than I wanted so I was completely rushing when I took this.
I love that you can tell exactly what I'm thinking by my facial expression. "Okay Self, move it or lose it. Let's get this over with!"

"Can you hear me now?" I'm not actually holding a cell phone. It's just force of habit.

"Cute pose or audition photo for the TV show 'Snapped'?."

I got to wear a new to me blouse and jacket. I got the shirt from Goodwill. It's Banana Republic and so so pretty. The jacket has a silver shimmer in it which I am way into right now. Okay now I'm off to teach my night class.

Everybody's A Critic

Today is a day off although I have tons of grading to do. So of course I've spent the firs half of the day looking at all your blogs. Ha ha. Oh well! I actually got myself dressed to go pick up some sandwhiches from Subway. My daughter took these pictures for me. Here's how it went:

My daughter: "Mom, you look too posed. Stop posing."

Me: "What? What are you talking about?"

""This is how I really stand."

"Do I look skinnier when I do this?"

My daughter: "Okay. Never mind. Just pose then."

Toys For Laughs

Tonight I got to perform Stand Up Comedy at a benefit to collect toys for kids from underpriviledged or abusive homes. It was at the Elks Lodge in Lakewood. It was really fun and everybody was great. Plus it was a really good cause. One woman in the audience was knitting the whole time. I felt like I was around you guys. Ha. Anyway. Here it is. And thanks to Cindy Burns who was also on the show for taking the pictures.

In The Navy

Today was a long day of teaching. I'm still looking for the right place in my small apartment to take pictures on those days where there is no day left in the day. I actually used Picassa to crop and mess with the picture a little. Fan-cee. Anyway, today I wore some old favorites. The sweater is from the 1950's. I got it when I was in college in the 80's.

The necklace is one of my favorites. I bought the little bauble at a yard sale when I was a college student around 1982 and put it on a chain.

By that time I had moved from Punk Rock to Rockabilly. The Stray Cats ruled. I still have a lot of the vintage costume jewelry I bought back then. The great thing about buying jewelry is that you don't have to worry about it still fitting 30 years later. :)
Does it look like I'm about to fall asleep? I am. zzzzzzz

P.S. any hints or tips for taking awesome photos? This is probably what has kept me from posting more often. Thanks, wonderful bloggers.

Day 2-and I had to work for it

It seemed like everything went wrong with trying to get these pictures up but I did it! With a little help from my daughter and my cat. I wore this to work. It was an Educator's Luncheon and I was outside at a table for the first few hours. LA weather is a little weird right now changing from cold to warm to cold again within a few hours so I just did easy layering. My friend Kady took some nice pictures during the day but all she had was her phone camera (my camera batteries ran out) and the pictures ended up too small. Oh, well.  My wonderful daughter took these at home after my work and her school and her Orthodontist appointment and dinner and me helping her get started with an AP Euro project. Yeah, so here it is. You're welcome. Ha ha.

Everyday In December Challenge

Okay that's a terrible name. There's probably already a challenge like this but, eh. There's a cool challenge called Dressember going on right now but I don't want to give up my jeans and sweatpants. I have been terrible about posting, averaging one a month, and this is specifically so that I can face the time management issues and space challenges that have kept me from producing a blog like the ones I like to read. (see examples below) So now, at least for 31 days, I'm going to do it. Hopefully by the end of this month I will have figured out Photoshop and how to work my camera. heh heh.

Today I gave a tour of the FIDM campus to a high school so I'm dressed for work. Anyway, without further ado, here's what I wore today:
